14. Explosive Ants

'Explosive' temperamentFACT: Many animals have interesting defense tactics, however one of the most spectacular and bizarre techniques is employed by the Carpenter Ant.

When Carpenter Ants are under attack they swarm over their opponent, exactly the same as any other ant, however when an individual is injured to the point where they believe they cannot damage the opponent any more, they will rush towards the opponent. They then proceed to clench their muscles with their full strength. This causes their whole body to explode , spraying poison from inside of them over their enemy.
